#9: Face Masks Are Your Skins Savior!

There has been a lot of serious blog posts lately. To switch it up, I've decided to talk about a lighter topic which also lies near and dear to my heart, face masks. I am a mask-addict and I do one almost everyday. My skin feels ten times healthier after using a mask and I wanted to share some of my favorites.

Whether your skin is oily, dry, acne prone, combination, you should be using a face mask. It’s easy to make using masks a habit. You only need to use them about three times a week. No matter if it’s gel or clay, whatever you choose to use will save your face. These magical masks can pull impurities right out of your pores with some serious deep cleansing. They reduce excess oils, hydrate, and benefit the overall look of skin.

Figure out your skin type if you don’t already know it and do some research! If you’re acne prone like me, you want a clay mask that dives deep into your pores and cleans you out. They can be drying but slap on some good moisturizer with hyaluronic acid (good for young, troublesome skin). By using clay masks, the look of my skin has changed drastically. From having crazy breakouts all over my cheeks to now only getting one or two randomly, I have become much more confident in my own skin!

Here are five face masks I strongly recommend for people struggling like me.

1. Dr. Jart Dermaclear Trans-Foam Clay Trio
These face masks are quick and easy to use. They only stay on for about three minutes. So, when I’m getting ready in the morning I’ll put one on and brush my teeth. Then I’ll wash it off once I’m done brushing and I’ve already done a mask for the day! Quick and easy! You can get these on Amazon for $16.

2. Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask to Clear Pores

This one is the most expensive that I use. It’s $27 from Ulta or Sephora but is completely worth every penny. After only a few uses you’ll see a dramatic difference in the cleanness of your pores. This stays on your face for a quick 10 minutes. A tip before you apply, is to drape a hot towel over your face to open up your pores before use to better the results.

3. Lush Mask of Magnaminty
This cool, minty fresh mask makes my skin feel like a piece of spearmint gum. It has the best cooling sensation and makes my skin feel extra clean. What makes it even better is the gentle exfoliation from the aduki beans and primrose seeds. The best part about this mask is that it's all natural, vegan, and from a great company. You can get this at Lush for $15.

4. Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay Mask

This mask is a detox for your face. It shrinks up pores and leaves your face feeling so clean and soft. It’s very drying but as long as you moisturize you’re face will feel fantastic. It’s the best when you mix it with apple cider vinegar! You can order it on Amazon for $10.

5. Mario Badescu Special Mask for Oily Skin
This mask is amazing and so is everything else by Mario Badescu. This majorly improved my T-Zone by removing oils and helped with my redness as well. I recommend not only this mask but anything from they're acne prone skin line without a doubt works. I get this from Ulta for $18

Now everyone's skin is different and has a wide variety of needs. These masks have worked great for me and I've seen real improvements. I have nothing bad to say about these five! They may not work for everyone but, it doesn't hurt to try. Especially, if you're acne prone, uneven skin tone, and need a deeper cleanse like me.

If you need help getting into the face mask groove, then have a spa day! It's a great way to "treat yo self" and you're skin will be thanking you for it.

  3. Nice info! I'm certain this post is meant more for Women though (Even though my face is beginning to look like a ripe avocado). Nicely edited as well!

  4. Ulta and Sephora should hire you as a sales-girl because girl you sold me. I have a face mask obsession as well! Have you seen those videos for that face mask that bubbles up as it dries? I want to try that one so bad because it makes you look so funny, but i've also heard some pretty decent reviews on it too!
