#4 Treating the Inner Foodie
Do you ever sit and imagine yourself somewhere new? Where is it? What are you doing?
When I imagine myself somewhere, it's usually something like sitting on a Parisian balcony and enjoying a platter filled with warm, delectable, pasteries. And sipping on a steaming cup of café noisette (hazelnut coffee).
Most bloggers, blog about things around them. Whether it's a concert, new pop-ups, or restaurants. By following them, it's a good way to find out secret places tourists may not know about. For example, if there's a trip to San Diego coming up, it would be smart to look into various bloggers who live there. You get to basically travel through them and get a taste of your future trip. Taste...as in delicious food.
Now, lets go on a trip to out of the country. All the way to Dublin, Ireland. If you're a world traveler, get interested in bloggers who are living where you want to go. By following Lovin Dublin (@lovindublin), people get to see the wonders the Irish have to offer. The bloggers who run the site give an excellent portrayal of the foodie crowd in Dublin. They keep followers up to date with new restaurants in town and where to find them. Even the ones that hide in plain sight like The Vintage Kitchen. So, book your plane tickets future travelers.
Coming back stateside, there's an excellent blogger based in New York City called No Leftovers. It's ran by Jackie Gebel and her site will be coming up soon. As of now, she can be found on Instagram under @noleftovers. She has a large following of over 309K. Each of her posts include a delicious plate of food. From pizza, burgers, and something called a sabich. Gebel keeps followers salivating over her foodie life in N.Y.C.
If you're someone who considers a "staycation" a trip, then try following some local bloggers. A good Phoenix based blogger is Justin Eats. A recent post of his is titled, Best Restaurants in Show Low and Pinetop-Lakeside Arizona. It includes information on over 10 restaurants in the area that he recommends. He also has a post about where to eat in southern Tempe. Justin Eats is a blog Arizonans should follow, to make their "staycation" a tasty one.
While you're on the next trip, don't forget to treat your inner foodie.

Now I know what people mean when they say, "A picture is worth a thousand words". This post was so aesthetic. I've always wanted to go to different countries and take pictures of my food like this, maybe in the future.
ReplyDeleteI think it would be a good idea to look at blogs before you visit somewhere. At the very least it would be an idea generator of things to do there.
